A Message from One of our Jurors, Mr. Toshiyuki Inoko

GEISAI#20 will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2014 and the deadline for applications is in 10 days!

Today, we wanted to pass on a message from one of our jurors, CEO of Team Lab Mr. Toshiyuki Inoko.

We hope you will be inspired by his words and apply to GEISAI#20.

______

Hello, this is Toshiyuki Inoko from Team Lab.
Our company is composed of many specialists in different fields, founded on the belief that digital technology will change society in fundamental ways. Thus, we produce all sorts of things and I deeply believe that they will affect great change around the world.

In addition, we also believe that digital technology will give birth to new forms of expression and experience, and that restructuring the forces underlying our culture according to a digital methodology will eventually lead to the next step forward in the great chain of cultural continuity. More than anything else, we create art with the belief that revisiting our conception of beauty is the best way possible to create social progress.

My hope for GEISAI#20 is that it will create an opportunity for you, the same way that Takashi Murakami created the opportunity for me that led to my being in a position to write this. I may not be formally suited to evaluate your works of art, but know that I love young people and am interested in all forms of new and emerging cultural phenomena.

I also note that I am not the most outgoing person in the world, so I am not always able to speak with young people whom I do not know, but I will take advantage of this great opportunity to learn what I can from you about all that is new in the world. I hope that I personally will enjoy GEISAI more than anyone.

Toshiyuki Inoko, Team Lab
