Chris Le is a co-founder and creative director of RTFKT and the Senior Director of Design at Nike. A creative entrepreneur, he gained recognition through his work for DOTA2 and CSGO and also has an established background in film direction, graphics design, and visual effects.

Born 1969 in Cupa. Graduated from Sokei Art Academy. A pioneer of the anime bishōjo motif in contemporary art. Following exhibitions at Musée d'Art Contemporain de Lyon (2006), Seattle Art Museum (2014), Musée national des arts asiatiques Guimet (Paris, 2019), and HOW Art Museum (Shanghai, 2021), a solo exhibition of his work at Phoenix Art Museum will open this year.

Born 1976 in Saitama, Japan. Began her professional career while still a student at Tama Art University. She creates unique imaginary worlds inspired by Japanese and international sci-fi novels and mythological worldviews. Currently, her solo exhibition themed on Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, and New York is on tour through those cities. Publications include Tokyo Space Diary and May All Things Dissolve in the Ocean of Bliss, among others.

Born 1974 in Tokyo. Graduated from Hosei University. She mainly created chromogenic prints and printout works using Adobe Illustrator in her early career, but has since moved on to digital animation and sculptural works, and further to hand-drawn works and ceramics. She participated in the "54th Carnegie International" at the Carnegie Museum of Art (2004) and held a solo exhibition at Perrotin Paris (2022). Publication: Chiho Aoshima: Drawings and Ceramic Works

Born 1974 in Osaka. Moved to New Jersey in 1980. Returned to Japan in 2004 after graduating from Parsons School of Design. He developed his style using provocative and satirical phrases in collaboration with fashion brands. He gained popularity with his WANNABE series featuring famous historical paintings and memorable scenes from movies. With this series, he quickly gained recognition in the global contemporary art scene. He has also been working on a series of private, autographical paintings in recent years. He had solo exhibitions at Perrotin Paris and New York.

Born 1980 in Shiga, Japan. Graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Crafts, Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. Based on Awaji Island, he creates vessels and objects using a wide variety of materials, including ceramics, wood, and iron. His ceramic works feature the rough texture of clay, giving them a cute appearance along with a unique presence as sculptures. Recently, he has been working on paintings as well. Born in 1992 and raised in Kyoto. As early as in her teens, she contacted artists of her generation on the illustration communication service pixiv to curate exhibitions. She is among the first generation of artists who grew up with games and social media. Using a girl with big eyes as a motif, she expresses a delicate and imaginary world. In 2013 she collaborated with shu uemura and in 2020, she provided the artwork for the Netflix original drama FOLLOWERS directed by Mika Ninagawa. Born 1995 in Kanagawa, Japan. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Painting. Debuted in 2018 during her third year of undergraduate studies. She has held solo exhibitions at Perrotin Seoul (2021) and Shanghai (2022). Despite being oil paintings, her work appear pale like watercolor, and the girls depicted in nostalgic suburban landscapes of Japan are assemblages of people and images met in the artist's life.

Shin MURATA

Profile

Born 1970 in Kyoto, Japan. Graduated from Kyoto Seika University Faculty of Art, Ceramics Course. He built a kiln in Kita-ku, Kyoto in 2003, and had been holding more than ten solo exhibitions a year around Japan. Despite his popularity, he stopped showing new works in 2016 to explore his own craftsmanship deeply. In pursuit of the ultimate harmony between food and tableware, he launched Tonari no Murata, a platform for exhibiting and selling ceramic art, calligraphy, and paintings, with his wife Fusako and Takashi Murakami in 2020.
