    ProfileSakurako Hamaguchi was born in Kyoto in1981. She graduated from the Department of Painting, 3rd course of Kyoto Saga University of Arts. she draws daily scenes from a child’s perspective, using watercolor paints and crayons. At GEISAI#5, she installed entire house made of box cartons that reproduced her own messy room. Her bold idea to scatter her drawings around the room attracted a great deal of attention. She is now based in Kyoto.

    Artist NameYodogawa Technique
    ProfileYodogawa Technique was established in 2003 by Hideki Shibata and Kazuya Matsunaga. Their artwork consist on garbage and drifted items found at the bed of the Yodogawa River, Osaka. Their approach to art, “we do it because it is fun,” is easygoing. They are currently exhibiting at the foot of the Yodogawa Jusan Ohashi Bridge.

    Hideki Shibata was born in Okayama in 1976. He has been working as an artist in Osaka since 2000. In 2003, he won the “Tokyo FM Scout Award” at GEISAI#3 and the “Mainichi Shinbun Kurikuri Scout Award” at GEISAI#4.
    Kazuya Matsunaga…
    Kazuya Matsunaga was in Kumamoto in 1977. In 2002, he won the “Pia Award” at the “Art Best River Place.”

    Artist NameHiroshi Shimizu
    ProfileHiroshi Shimizu was born in Kanagawa in 1961. He graduated from the Department of Education of Bunkyo University, majority in Fine Arts. he currently teaches at a public elementary school. He participates regularly in the “JACA Japanese Visual Art Festival” and “The Choice Award” held by “illustration.” For GEISAI#5, he created three-dimensional pieces with the theme: “cheap & modern.” He placed paper cars with long legs in perfect order. To represent the cars parked and non-functional, he used graph paper as parked and non-functional, he used graph paper as material and color pencils to color them. At forty-two, he was the oldest prize winner in GEISAI history.
