GEISAI#7 Photo Report

  • GEISAI#7 was held on March 20, 2005. One of the most notable booths was the Medalists booth, composed of 24 winners of the gold, silver, and bronze prizesm at past GEISAI. Each of them was given a solo exhibition space and it was a perfect embodiment of the history and results of GEISAI up until that time. To celebrate the medalists, we held a pre-event party on March 19 at the Hanae Mori Building in Omotesando. Here, we see the winners’ works lit up in the dark.
  • A great number of people were invited.
  • Chairman Murakami and Tom Eccles gave a speech.
  • Everyone came out in their best dress.
  • Medalists Tsukasa Otake’s work was truly impressive.
  • Teruhisa Kitahara takes a photo with a piece by Masao Kinoshita, whose work is in his collection.

  • Toshiko Okamoto had a great time at the party.
  • To the left of Murakami are Sakurako Hamaguchi and Maki Hosokawa, both dressed up.
  • The artwork from the past GEISAI winners was given a splendid presentation. Here we see a painting by Jaga Ichiro (left), and another one by Mahomi Kunikata (right).
  • Ichiro Morimoto and his paper figurines.
  • Françoise Moréchand stopped by. To the left is a nervous looking Jaga Ichiro.
