GEISAI MUSEUM Photo Report

  • Exhibitor Jelly Fish, whose delicate, detailed paintings have been popular at past GEISAI installments. Her work ranked high in the the jury review as well as the audience survey.
  • I guess they must be famous by now? The two man performance group pultop were impossible to miss as they handed out rice to visitors. Even in Roppongi Hills, they stand out.
  • “lammfromm The Concept Store,” who handle both Murakami and Nara goods. How we doin on sales, ladies?
  • Shinichi Kaneda performed by casting out various unusual sounds from his booth. The wide variety of tones had a huge impact and fascinated visitors.
  • Ken Matsuyama’s work adopts the unique concept of painting bikini models based on mythological themes. We heard he actually made more than a million yen this time?!
  • The hall had a good mix of general and corporate booths. The character seen here at the fore is “EIGHTYHHON” from the TOKYO FM booth.
  • At Kaikai Kiki’s booth, we sold “Aquatic Plants from Takashi Murakami”. Each was autographed by Murakami himself and all 120 sold out!
  • On stage, we were treated to what has now become a regular performance by Tokyo Modern Art Musume. Their performance this time was specially created for GEISAI Museum and it certainly got the audience into the spirit of things.
  • Minori Mori, CEO of Mori Building Co., also dropped by. One look at the exhibition hall brought us this wonderful smile.
  • Mori Art Museum Chairwoman Yoshiko Mori also visited. Would any of the exhibited works make it into the museum’s collection?
  • Polaroid photos of all of the artworks at GEISAI Museum were hung on the wall of the Jury room for the jurors to reference.
  • It seems the jurors have made their selection after reviewing their photos. What will the results be?
