GEISAI#1 expanded the scale of the Geijutsu Dojo Grand Prix was held on Saturday March 16 & Sunday March 17, 2002 at Tokyo Tower Amusement Hall.

As installation began, the exhibitors found themselves in a real sea of people. Artists from all over Japan had come to gather at Tokyo Tower.
Soon the exhibitors began arranging their booths.
A look at the booth of Sculptor Satoshi Yabuuchi. It was a themed shop entitled “Rakkanbo”.
The exhibitors feel the pinch as they try to get everything perfect in time.
It was a real process of trial and error as they contemplate the best way to present their works.
Finally, they finished the exhibition and were just waiting for the judge.
And finally, GEISAI#1 was open. Here we see the GEISAI Executive Committee engaging in their final meeting and taking the moment to boost morale.
The line for visitors reached amazing proportions as well. On the second day, there were waits as long as 30 minutes. Things were especially hectic around the reception desk.
