    ProfileKomainu was born in Tokyo in 1978. He received a master’s degree in Avant-Garde Art Expression from the Department of Fine Art at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He was a recipient of Ikuo Hirayama Scholarship (2002), and the Isoya Yoshida Scholarship (2002). He won the gold medal at GEISAI#2 with his acrylic cubes containing small sea creatures found in a pack of dried Japanese anchovies purchased at a grocery store. His conceptual and minimal work led him to his first solo show at Mizuma Art Gallery.

    Artist NameShinichi Hara
    ProfileShinichi Hara was born in Ibaragi in 1964. He received a master’s degree in sculpture from the Department of Fine Art at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He is a recipient of the Ataka Award (1987) and the Kirin Encouragement Award (2002). He is currently on adjunct lecturer at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Having grown up in a family od a stone carves, he makes marble sculpture and is interested in the particular materiality of that medium. His work shows special attention to the detailes of a person’s body, such as the face and ears, and expresses contemporary themes.

    Artist NameMahomi Kunikata
    ProfileMahomi Kunikata was born in 1979 in Kanagawa. She graduated from the Department of Graphic Design, Japan Design School, with a major in illustration. She won the bronze medal at GEISAI#2 with carton drawings that she had been making since kindergarden. Her work includes artist’s own murmurings, delusions, and other more violent content. She was included in a group exhibition of female artist, Tokyo Girls Bravo, organized by Takashi Murakami in 2002 and 2004 in Tokyo and New York, respectively. Her work has started to attract international attention.
