GEISAI#2 Photo Report

  • On Saturday August 31 and Sunday September 1, 2002, GEISAI#2 was held at Tokyo Big Sight, West Hall 4.
  • One of the key points for exhibitors was how compact they could pack their works in order to bring them in to the hall. This exhibitor studies the layout of his botoh intently.

  • Jun Miura mumbles to himself as he carefully examines each work.
  • MAYA MAXX is known for having his own unique style, but here we could see him deep in thought about his choices.
  • Already a veteran of these sorts of competitions, Noi Sawaragi knows what he’s looking for.
  • Yoshitomo Nara could be heard crying out about the lack of time to see everything. What would be his choice?
  • The jurors doing their final round through the venue. Miura keeps everyone on their toes with his sharp insights and jokes.
  • And here we see the final discussions. As time went by, the themes for the day became clear.
  • The Gold Prize is announced. The presenter was Yoshitomo Nara, making the moment all the more exciting for exhibitor Komain.
  • The winner of the Silver Prize, Shinichi Hara, didn’t expect to receive anything and so had left before the announcement thought he couldn’t got the prize, so he had made an exit before the announcement. He returned to the hall in a hurry.。
